Just found this on youtube. It’s the full version of the film. I’m not sure how it’s allowed to be on there for everyone to watch but it is, so I might as well put it up here all in one place.
Part 1 of 12 is a bit squished for some reason but the other 11 are all good quality and proper widescreen. There’s some foreign subtitles too but it’s perfectly watchable. Enjoy! »
I got bored with the old “Beach Scene” theme and decided to make my own.
Then I figured maybe some other people might like a change too, so it’s yours if you want it. It’s a minimalist design — just wanted to keep it clean and clear so it’s good for multi-tabling.
Coloured it like the sky on a sunny day to trick my brain into thinking happy thoughts. No wait that’s a lie, I just like blue.
You can click the image to the right to get a full size preview of a single table. It looks best with 4 or more tables going but you get the idea.
Full Tilt skins are pretty easy to install — download link and full instructions on “Read the rest”. If anyone wants a variation of this theme like a different colour background or different felt image, or if you’ve got your own ideas for what would look good, leave a comment and I should be able to turn around another version pretty quickly. »
durrrr continues to showcase his unique level of sickness. Awesome program.
To say that Tom Dwan brings something “a bit different” to the table is a serious understatement — oh, unless you mean physically… he does kind of bring a different looking face compared to the rest of us humans. But when you’re talking about the way he plays poker, his game is something else altogether, and these videos are a good example of why that is.
The last hand in this episode is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.
Ziigmund has been made to look like a donk so far. He hasn’t really had any chances to play.

Poker on March 7th, 2009
There’s a difference, but at the same time I am talking about the same thing.
I’m into my Zen so I like these koan-style, bitesize chunks of perspective. What I’m talking about is a different way of looking at the same action — betting without the best hand.
Sometimes you make a bet and it feels like you’re trying to force people off a hand, and that’s usually when it doesn’t work. They call with one pair and like a prat, you roll over 8 high with a busted draw for everyone to see.
This isn’t good. But a “bluff” doesn’t have to be an adrenaline fueled “holy shit I hope he doesn’t call” moment. A proper bluff shouldn’t be any more or less comfortable to make than any other bet — like say, shoving with kings.
Yeah but I’m not shoving with kings, I’m betting with fuck all into a guy with a pair!
An astute observation.
Thanks.
You’re welcome. But! — that’s only a quarter of the first part of the story. The other 15/8ths of what’s actually important is what they perceive and what they’re going to do with their pair based on what happens next. If there’s an 80% chance that they’ll fold to a decent bet, then you are “shoving with kings”. »

Poker on March 3rd, 2009
2 hours of 4xNL100 yesterday = +$287 — 3 hours of 4xNL100 today = -$41
Today was going well (+$200) until I got cheated for $100 by some idiot catching 2 running hearts all-in with JJ vs my QQ on the flop — after I made an elite shove into what could’ve been Kings or Aces. Then I went for the old 2-4-suited and cost myself ~$160. oops.
majc (Button) ($164.45)
SB ($70.50)
BB ($249.15)
UTG ($89.20)
MP ($97.80)

High Stakes Poker is one of the best tv shows, ever.
Every season it gets better, and Season 5 is looking mint. You gotta love the way durrrr plays. Some people don’t like him but I don’t know why — yeah he’s got a funny voice, but he handles himself well at the table and his game is on another level. He’s one of those guys I watch and can’t help thinking “gwan son!”, hoping for him to make a practically telepathic decision.
Dwan is always the action man and seeing how the other players react to his crazy aggression and the back-foot positions he puts them in is awesome to watch.
Quoted for truth: “I don’t like folding raising hands — you can’t win if you fold”.

Some stuff about the website:
gotdonk.net runs on open source blogging software called Wordpress. It’s totally free and it is awesome. The design of the site was done by me, using my computer skills, but a big thankyou
has to go to the generous programming hippies at Wordpress for their behind-the-scenes voodoo which holds it all together — for FREE.
What else.. oh yeah the Digsby thing on the side there, which is also free — the internet owns — goes directly to my instant messenger and it works just like a normal chat window on my desktop. How fucking cool is that? Every blog should have one of these things.
Some stuff about poker:
Season 5 of High Stakes Poker is coming up next week (and it’ll be free too). No Ivey this time but online psycho Ziigmund is in, as well as durrrr who’s always sick to watch. I’ll be posting the videos here every week.
In other news, I placed 2nd twice last week, on back to back days in the same $25 omaha tournament — which is weird because I don’t normally play tournaments, or omaha. ~$390 total winnings. Hand details on “Read the rest”… »

You better believe I got donk.
Look, if you play poker, you got donk — and if you don’t got donk, you’re not a poker player.
Einstein wrote his field equations about spacetime gravitation, but if he’d written them about poker, then much like one of my finest queen-jack-open-ender-all-in-3bets, I am 29% sure that’s one of the fundamental laws he would’ve come up with.
The occasional donk move is part of the game. We’ve all made supersonically stupid bets before, and if you haven’t then you’re doing something wrong.
There’s already a ton of strategy advice on the net — and in those “book” things — to tell you that the way you play poker isn’t perfect. But you already knew that, that’s why you were reading the advice in the first place.
Ultimately, the only thing you learn from poker books is that you can’t learn the game from poker books. What you really have to do, is hold onto your nipples and fucking go for it. Because in poker, there is something more important than any system or theory… »
